Help configuring onboard NIC on Toshiba Satellite 1735 laptop with FC 1
 

Hello,

I am a complete linux noob, (counting on 2 weeks since I first installed), I've been using FC 1 on my hand-me-down Toshiba Satellite 1735, and it's worked great and automatically detected everything, except today when I decided to try and get the on-board NIC configured so I could hook it up and surf/use apt, etc. I'm still new to the command-line, so I was using FC's Internet setup utility, but it won't detect the NIC. I went online to Toshiba's web site to look up the product specs, and it says there is no built in NIC on this laptop. But there's a RJ-45 port in the back marked 'ether' and I can't imagine they'd put it in there without it being functional. There is very little info on this model on line, and I don't know enough about Linux to know how to figure out even where to start on this one.
