help:broadcom modem card REDHAT 9

Oh god please help me! I really wanna leave XP in the dust but without modem support i can't. Can anybody out there save me? I need to know how to install a broadcom v92 modem card. Gimme help like im a 2 yr old. Helping me wins one for the linux side!

Try searching google for a linux driver for your modem.

Tried that, thats why I'm here. Just a load of dead ends on google. Got RPMs for 7.2 and 7.3 but they are not src RPMs so they are of no use. Need RPMs that are compiled with gcc 3 not 2. If anybody can locate the src rpms for these 7.2 and 7.3 kernel versions let me know, i can edit them then. But in the mean time I would settle for the appropriate drivers and a little customer support from BROADCOM! Jerks...

Can you be a bit more specific about your hardware? It seems to me that you're stuck looking for a driver for a laptop modem made by Broadcom?

yeah, its a desktop not a laptop, sorry. Im on a dell demision 2350 and the modem is a broadcom V 92 56k modem pci card. I found drivers on Dell irelands website but they are for redhat 7.2 and 7.3 and only the rpms not the src rpms. So now i cant compile them with gcc 3 for redhat 9.0 which is what needs to be done. If i an get the src rpms for these drivers then i might be able to sort it out but so far no good on the search front. I really need help here.
