Help binding mouse buttons to keyboard buttons
I have the MX1000 mouse from logitech and I followed the guide on ubunutu forums to get all the buttons working. The buttons give some input, but I can't bind them in games in games or in teamspeak. In enemy territory, they all get picked up as KP_= and Teamspeak blinks when I press them, but it doesn't let me bind them. So I would like some help binding them to some out of the way keyboard buttons to ensure detection in game. I have the AMD64 version of kubuntu linux.
I was looking to bind the 3 thumb buttons and the scroll buttons(not the wheel). From cat /proc/bus/input/devices I: Bus=0003 Vendor=046d Product=c50e Version=2500 N: Name="Logitech USB Receiver" P: Phys=usb-0000:00:02.0-3/input0 S: Sysfs=/class/input/input1 H: Handlers=mouse0 event1 ts0 B: EV=7 B: KEY=ffff0000 0 0 0 0 B: REL=143 From xorg.conf Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Logitech MX1000" Driver "evdev" Option "Name" "Logitech USB Receiver" Option "HWHEELRelativeAxisButtons" "7 6" Option "Buttons" "10" Option "ButtonMapping" "1 2 3 6 7" Option "Protocol" "ExplorerPS/2" Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5" Option "Resolution" "800" EndSection |
It's been over 3 weeks & no help. I don't understand why -- your Q is well phrased & you trimmed the output data to the relevant essentials.
The only thing I can think of is your choice of forum. You are allowed to request the thread be moved to a different area, where it might get better exposure. Perhaps Hardware? In any case, you make the request by reporting your own post. |
Moved to Linux-Hardware at OPs request

have you read: http://www.linux-gamers.net/modules/...+Mouse+Buttons ?
I have MX1000 Laser attached to my suse 10.1 x86_64 laptop but unfortunately I don't play games so I can't help you there. |
I also found the following useful in getting my tiltwheel working http://katze-mit-wut.azundris.com/in...ml&serendipity , both on my touchpad middle north-East-South-west button and on the MX1000 0nly my adjustyments in Firefox mean that the side (thumb) buttons forward and back scroll a page horizontally rather than the tiltwheel!
