>BRIEFFING: I were instaling W$ from cd to an hd of a friend, and when it finish 2 format, reboots;
but then it said 2 be unable 2 find some packages, well... I installed from image server.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
>>BUT ! ... Since then my cd does not work properly ! ! ! , when I start my computer, the cd makes a verry scarry sound ! and even when in my comp I only have Suse, Fedora, & Debian; when I try 2 run from CD, sometimes say bad crc some other times like yesterday, the display goes really mad and Deb sais md5sum failed, fedora crashes marvelously setting my computer 2 an absolute off !!!, I even has to disconect my computer from electric source 2 make it on !!! WOW!. The only one works properly is Suse ad even play music on it, but still whith that scarry sound at the begining,& I can't burn cds without errors.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
>>AND... This is why I think my computer is going 2 EXPLODE: yesterday my comp didn't power on when I press the power button, I has 2 disconect and reconect the machine, to power on, but when it starts, took long time 2 do it, and does a verry loud bip! and I ear an scarry crack and didn't boot anything by several minutes

It sounds like the CMOS on your systemboard is going bad or is already bad. Usually a CRC checksum error points to a bad CMOS. I don't think your machine will physically explode, but I believe you will need to replace your systemboard.
