help a newbie config wifi on linux

Ok I run whoppix 2.7 final. I'm trying to get my wifi jaht wn-4054U 54mbps usb 2.0 to work with my distro of linux. Linux doesn't normally know what it is so I run ndiswrapper and take the inf file off my drivers cd. It says drivers were installed fine but no new adapters were found. So I opened a shell and typed "ndiswrapper -l" this displayed my driver zd1211u and it says hardware present. So I type iwconfig and there's no wireless devices. Any help?

I know it's a zydas based chipset if that helps any.

Did you type
Code:
modprobe ndiswrapper
after you noticed the hardware was present?

This is the problem. Did you install ndiswrapper yourself, or was it included in the distro... If Whoppix is running from CD, you might have a problem here.

I'm running whoppix 2.7 final live cd. Should I use the install whoppix to harddrive option? I kind of a newbie and I thought it would load off the cd since the distro was kind of built for wireless security. Any help?
