hdmi input on laptop?

I have an HDMI port on my laptop, and was wondering if I could plug in a device and use my laptop as a screen?

Most if not all laptop vendors that provide HDMI ports make them output ports in order to extend the laptop screen onto other displays. So most likely the answer is no! Please provide the laptop model # so we can make certain, but I'm.pretty sure it can't be done.

Almost certainly not, thanks to HDCP (High-Definition Copy Protection). About the only devices that will have HDMI inputs are 'passthough' devices (e.g. AV receivers) and display devices (e.g. TVs).
