hdd relabeling dev/sdr to dev/sdr1

Hi guys,

I'm using Open media vault, (Debian)

I reinitialize a couple hard drive which are now showing up as dev/sdr1 instead of dev/sdr in the web interface.

Also I am not able to label the hard drive as Motion-C it labels itself as MotionC.

I realize these are nit picking issues but this differences in spelling is going to cause me untold headaches later on. I would really like to change the spelling/label/naming so they match the other hard drives.

I am able to SSH into the box by passing the web interface.

Thank you

The same program showed before "/dev/sdr" and now "/dev/sdr1"?

"/dev/sdr" is the entire hard drive, the raw device. Only a few programms work with that. Most application software work with a partioned and formatted part of the hard drive. "/dev/sdr1" is the first partition. What the program then displays to the user is dependant on the program itself.

What happens if you re-initialize it again?
