Hdd issue after installed Ubuntu 16,04

Hello
I installed Ubuntu in a laptop Inspiron
I erased windows and only installed Ubuntu.
After install and restart I see hat appear errors like like “initramfs”
And the their errors like “pci bus error severity corrected.
Then I installed the program “parted magic” in a usb
I tried to erase the disk and received a log file.
I didn’t n know what to do. How I can check what is the problem with he hard disk. Which tools allow me to fix this problem.
Before install Ubuntu I did not have any problems with the hdd.
Can be an error that can fixed? How Can I check if I need to change the hdd or I can fix the problem wth a program like parted magic or another tool.
Thanks

Did you select the installation type option to Erase Disk and install Ubuntu?
Which version of windows did you have?
Did you install Ubuntu UEFI or Legacy?
Did you verify the download of the Ubuntu iso with an md5 checksum?

When you want to start from scratch:

Assume you have backuped all your data.

Download Sysrescue-cd. verify the checksum of the iso file. burn it

fire up gparted. Wipe everything.

verify the checksum of the ubuntu disk. Than install ubuntu
personally I would go for linux mint, which is ubuntu + small modifications. the linux mint installations of the past years, last one I did 4 months ago, were rather smooth for a limited linux, which is targeted for windows users / linux newbies.

quote: After install and restart I see hat appear errors like like “initramfs”

this is "bootloader" / booting issue, to not be precise. more a software issue, do not matter

quote: And the their errors like “pci bus error severity corrected.

a screenshot, or photo made with a smartphone and uploaded would have helped us more.

could be kernel related or something else

--

you can only wipe a disc, which is not mounted. therefore when you bootup sysrescue-cd you are on a live-cd environment and can do those tasks.

--

you can run badblocks ( badblocks - search a device for bad blocks)
also there were some tool which write certain patterns on the discs and verify it, forgot the name for it. It was not scrub tool, it was something else.

--

It is advised to create regularly backups.

quote: Did you install Ubuntu UEFI or Legacy?

This is an important question regarding your bios. If it is an old bios, aka legacy, or a new one.
Also telling your full model name / full product code of your laptop, e.g. asus g75vw, can help others determine which bios you may have. Most newer laptops have uefi based bios.
I think the ubuntu installer disc should be able to handle both when you wipe to my suggestion the discs beforehand.

Hello
Thanks for your detailed answer
The laptop is:
Dell Inspiron 15 3567 - 15.6" - Core i3-u - 4GB RAM - 1 TB
Processsor Skylake
The hard disk is Seagate. ST1000LM035
I upload a picture

https://pasteboard.co/HiwbLPe.jpg

The bios:
I changed in the boot list option from uefi to legacy
Also I disabled the secure boot

In the advanced legacy option rom I checked the option “enable legacy option ROM”

I follow the steps you said me.
I installed the Ubuntu 16.04 but in certain time the computer freeze (the screen of the application was black and night).
Then I restart the Pc and spear message like kernel panic

I upload an image of the error mentioned.
https://pasteboard.co/HiwgmWU.jpg
Then I entered the usb stick and open the “try Ubuntu “ and open a terminal.
I enter the next.
Sudo frisk -l
Appear
/dev /sda1. Size 927.8 G type Linux
/dev/sda2 size 3.8 G type extended
/dev/sda5 size 3.8 G type Linux swap/Solaris

After this o entered I entered to the mode “try Ubuntu “ and open the “disk” app.
I check the health of the hdd using the option “smart data and self tests”
See below what appear. It’s possible to infer something? Or it’s necessary to another tests?

After this I press the button “refresh” and appear error

In my first attempt I changed the bios to legacy.

I made a new partition in windows to install Ubuntu
