Can any one shed some light on what to check to cure the above error. The system has run for months OK, I decided to put another net card in the machine at the weekend, so very likely I have upset the interupt arrangement as the machine is quite full, obviously another net card and two scsi cards plus the usual other things.
The machine sometimes boots without the error at startup but it will now just crash out with that being the last known error.
As I do not use the parallel port would disabling that help by giving the machine irq 7 to play with????
I'm desparate to get this one sorted as the machine is (was) my mailserver and internet gateway.

Rep:
disabling stuff you don't use is usually good, like turning
off the usb ports interrupts if you don't use them, and
the serial and parallel ports.
but i think that lost interrupt thing is usually a dma problem.
cable too long or damaged, another drive on the cable
messing that drive up, cable running over something
that puts off a bunch of noise, or cable not in good, but
i think you should pull the network card out, and make
sure all the other cards are seated good, and see how
the machine runs.
Thanks all, problem solved.....
When I got in last night and took the side off the beast I noticed the hard drive was quiet, after the initial panic of the hard drives died and then trying to remember how much was on the last back up it was time to put a hand in a check the cables.
On brushing the power connector to the hdd it spun up, on wiggling it stopped again. Loose connection the power plug, all tightened up and the beast lives, must have just disturbed it one too many times when I put the net card in....phew.!
