Question HD SCSI Rescan

Hi all

I have a little Problem. I have add a disk to my Server (Dell PE1850, SCSI RAID PERC4) and configure the disk as a single disk(no array). I have make this by the working OS. But know I dont see the disk for example with fdisk -l. I think I must rescan the SCSI Bus. The simplest way ist to reboot the Server but is a productive Machine and because that is this very bad solution.

I`v found that tread thread id=215883 (Sorry can`t post the full url)

And test the command below:
Code:
echo "rescan" > /proc/scsi/megaraid/0
But this command hangs Knows anyone how to scan my scsi bus to detect the new drive?

Well, assuming that your system fully supports hotswap (as it should), the following site might be able to help you: http://www.garloff.de/kurt/linux/scsidev/
