Based on the output of the dmesg and that no disk utility is able to access the drive I would guess it has failed.
The only missing information is if the drive is actually powered and have you felt the platters spinning.

Did you make sure the drive is plugged into the adapter good and adapter plugged into the usb port correctly? Is the usb cable from the adapter good? Have you tried a different usb port?

DFSee searches for partition boot sector candidates via a script that can create reports for the author to evaluate. Whether the binary can magically determine which are the right ones to use by itself I don't know, but the author has a reputation for supplying reconstruction scripts that usually work. I've never needed to use that service myself, because it logs everything it does. When I have had reason to recreate, I just referred to a relevant saved log.

But I would think you would be able to just flash a HD with generic info that it has when you buy one. I mean it's not like I am trying to recover any data, I am just looking for a clean slate.

A new HD usually has nothing on it, either all nulls, or all some other character like FF. If fdisk or parted or any other partitioning tool can't somehow create a fresh partition table, there is a low level problem with the computer hardware, or the HD itself.

You might want to see if there are any diagnostics tools you can download from the manufacture. However, they probably will not work through the USB adapter.

I will problably install it into my Linux machine and try a Linux mint install to it maybe the ubuntu installer will recognize it. If not I'll look into some other option.
