having problems burning cd.s with a toshiba combo drive

I am experiencing diffuculties burning BIN/CUE images to cd-r media with the combo drive i have on my laptop (toshiba DVD-SDR2102)

i get a message saying that the cd-r is not blank which i am sure it is. ISO images work fine though.

i am using debian sid with kernel 2.6.9(-1)

any ideas?

what application are you using to burn? Usually, you have to convert bin/cue into iso before burning, but some application wil do this on the fly.

i tried a few actually... cdrdao being one... then i tried k3b which i believe uses cdrdao to handle cue files.. i dont know what else i can try, i checked some other cd burning applications via apt-get, most of them only support iso format.
