Have turboprint shows printer Canon Pixma iP1600 not connected
I have a Canon Pixma iP1600 Printer. I've not had an opportunity to use it since switching over completely to Linux. I need to use it NOW!. It is plugged in and turned on but it will not print out a simple test page. Elsewhere on this Forum I heard that getting the Turbo Print software would be what I needed for a Linux system. I got it for a thirty day trial period, it is set up except it the Monitor shows the printer as 'Printer not connected or turned off'. The printer is connected, all the cables and power cords are plugged nice and tight. It is turned on, there is no doubt about that. I have tried to find a driver for the printer and have downloaded the "Driver Boost Pro Set Up.exe" which is suppose to help find the proper driver for your printer? My trouble is it all looks like a mass of text information and no where do I see a simple click to install? I have tried using Gdebie
All help will be appreciated. TIA
