Has anyone had this happen?? (usb mouse)

I have a ms explorer mouse that is usb. I always have just used the usb>>ps2 converter. One day i decided to try and get to work with usb. I ran mouseconfig and selected it as usb. plugged it in and rebooted. The first time it said it found it but it wasnt working, but the thing was my keyboard was no longer working now. I had to push the power button to reboot. Then i put the mouse back in ps2 port and powered up and keyboard worked again. I tried again but this time it wouldnt find the mouse and keyboard wouldnt work again.

Why does my keyboard stop working when i pull the mouse from ps2 and put into usb?? I just gave up on it since it works fine as ps2 and I didnt like that i had to keep using the power button to reboot.

thanks

My USB Logitech mouse will only work in my USB port if I select PS/2 style mouse. I ran into weird problems (not quite like yours) when I selected USB wheelmouse, which is exactly what the logitech box calls it. Try doing that and see what happens.

Go figure.
