Question hardware upgrade

Hi All:

I'm thinking about upgrading two old PCWarehouse systems. I run Redhat 8.0 on the existing systems.

I'm planning to step up to the Micro Star 648 Max-L motherboard with an Intel 845E or 850E chipset.

I didn't see this in the HCL on readhat.com Can anyone tell me about hardware compatibility for redhat 8.0 ?

Thanking you in advance,

Richard

845 is bleeding edge technology, and has issues
with several distros. Either wait a while, or get a
830 based board. I've seen 845 work well with a
stock 2.4.20 kernel, though.

Cheers,
Tink
