Hardware raid setup

Hi!

I'm getting so confused about this RAID stuff. So i need som explanations.

If i have a Hardware raid setup with a real raidcontroller on scsi-disks and created an array and so on... what do i have to do with linux when i install it ? do i have to set up some sort of software raid on it also so that the linux system will work with raid also or can i just skip that step ?

Somehow i need a good tutorial for setting up hardware raid so if you got some please post it here or a link

i am not sure, but as far is ai can tell, a hardware RAID setup is like a single device for linux so apart from selecting the correct SCSI driver for your raid controller, you don't need to worry about it anymore.

you should not need to do anything to install linux on a hardware-raid setup, apart from loading the correct modules.

definately NO software raid software unless, possibly for monitoring and error reporting.

please correct me if i am wrong.
