Hard Drive not found when installing RHEL 3 AS

Installing RHEL 3 AS on an HP PCm7170n. This is an Intel 3 ghz P4, dual core w/ 250gb SATA HD. The BIOS recognizes the drive, but the RHEL installation does not. Is there something specific with this hardware? I was able to install successfully on a different PC using the same type of SATA HD.

How did you get on?

Try booting off the CD (DVD?) into rescue mode and see if the SATA HDD is still invisible.

This suggests hardware is the problem - you havn't got a reply because it could be anything and I'd really need to be in front of the machine to see what the problem is.

Your best bet is to find a local LUG and see when they are having an install-fest.

Note: RHEL have support for just this thing - you are paying for it... what do they say?
