green screen

hi everybody,

i seem to have a problem with my graphics card (geforce fx 5200):

sometimes when i play movies with xine, vlc or mplayer i get a green screen after a few minutes, i. e. the whole screen turns green, and i have to reboot to watch on the movie (the green screen only affects the movie player not the system, but i cant watch movies even when i restart my user-session or restart the player).
i had the same problem under win2k, until somebody gave me the tip to turn off the overlay of my graphics card, which worked fine, but how do i do that under linux (fedora core 3)?
i dont see anything like overlay in the configuration, or has this something to do with the xfree86 - system?
i am absolutely clueless, so i would appreciate it if somebody tells me what is the problem and how can i solve this....

thx in advance

Are you using the latest drivers for your graphics card?
