graphics card sis305 unrecognised

I have a pentium 4 2.4 ghz processor 40gb harddisk , 256mb sdram , sis305 32mb agp graphics card , all the installation of redhat linux 9 worked fine except the graphics card, it shows me unrecognised graphics card , i tried to find drivers from sis site but they don't support.

while setting the settings manually i tried to select sis 300 ( which is the nearest match) but still it does not work
, all the settings i try have failed to start the xserver ,

can anyone help me set this graphics card

i have tried with knoppix linux ( bootable OS from CD) & it worked fine , it recognised the card as sis300 .

please help me set my graphics card

thanx in advance

sis 305 pci

I have a pci version of the sis 305, 16mb in an old machine...p120.. Are there any drivers for it?

We have considered linux for this ole clunker..hey, all ours are!!! (I goofed and replied, I think previously and forgot it was a pci card not agp.)

I have a Pine XP 2800 PCI which has the SiS 300/305 GPU and I cant find support for it either. The card runs fine with Fedora, and I can only get a shell with Slackware but it would freeze if I tried to "startx" even after running the configuration program. And Knoppix will not start without a "cheatcode" boot parameter
Code:

fb1024x768
or
Code:

knoppix xmodule=vesa
Here is the output from
Code:

lspci ; lspci -n
Code:

knoppix@ttyp1[knoppix]$ lspci ; lspci -n

It seems we are in the same boat on different sides, you have the agp and i have the pci, perhaps you can share what you've found out so far? This is all that I can remember at this point, sleep deprivation does that to me.
