I have just installed fresh install of Debian 1.3 and my graphics are now 800/600 how do i change this up i know if i installed windows i would get better resolution.

I hope you mean 3.1 . So it will be /etc/X11/xorg.conf .. In 1.3 I guess it was /etc/X11/XF86Config .
Post it here, maybe. You need either correct driver mentioned in it or "vesa"; and correct resolution set.
