Graphic problems with nvidia and mandrake 10

HI I'm rather new to linux, so pease go easy on the fansy talk.

I have installed Mandrake 10, and thus it has installed my graphic drivers for my geforce 3 ti200 card.
Hovever I have a destinct feeling that some thing is'nt working since my computer can't run a simple game like tuxracer without enormous lag.

Other than running the installation of mandrake, I haven't touched enything related to the graphiccard, og mandrake graphic configuration.

just to say it up front THANKS.

Well, seeing as you have an "nvidia" card. You might check. "nvidia" .com for the drivers first?

Huh? I'm confused...

Your saying mandrake illegally packages and installs proprietary drivers for their video cards?

That's awesome. And when will Nvidia be suing them for this?

not quite working properly :S

i have followed the instructions here and given in the README file and all seems to be perfect. one small problem. when X boots my monitor turns off (power saving) as if the computer is turned off. however the hard disk light and everything else seems to be running OK and when i hit ctrl+alt+backspace my original runlevel 3 (that i was in before i started X)is there and no error messages :S
