/dev Question (GPS-Mouse)

Hi there!

I am the proud owner of a Navilock GPS-Mosue with USB-Plug.

It works... I know that, because I found a little programm called "readgps" written by some guy and posted on the Navilock-Board. (Navilock states they won't support linux ...)

When I try to "cat /dev/ttyUSB0" (It is the right device) nothing happens, not even an error comes up. If I use "readgps" and tell it to use this device I get what I wanted. NMEA-Data... now I can cat from that device file.

It can't be a permissions problem, it is the right device, it works (HW is alive), can't be something depending on the distri (same problem on many different) ... it seems like in the progamm "readgps" happens something like an initialisation of the devicefile. Too bad that guy didn't include the sources ...

Does somebody have an idea about that?

Thanks and Greetings, Sascha
