good entry level graphics card with stable drivers

I am currently using a NVidia geforce 2 ti card and am now sick and tired of X freezing. There are threads of people describing the problem but NVidia doesn't even acknowledge it so I call it quits.

Can you guys and gals recommend a decent AGP graphics card with decent 3D capabilities, and a stable linux driver ? Stability is paramount.

Thanks for any advice
