Good distro for older hardware?
 

I've got a Pentium MMX 233 MHz, 80MB ram, and a Nvidia TNT Vanta 16MB video card. I tried Mandrake 9.2 for the hell of it; not a good idea. I'd like something relatively lightweight, but I would really prefer to run KDE. I might have some extra ram lying around somewhere, but I'm not sure. I doubt it can run any 3.x version of KDE, so what distros came with KDE 2.x? I read in another thread that someone recommended Debian. I just finished downloading all 7 isos of woody (for another computer), so should I try that? Any other suggestions?

Yes Debian would work fine on older hardware, as do Slackware(which i think is easier). Why use an old version of Kde when there are a bunch of other window managers out there that are better suited for that kind of hardware. Fluxbox, WindowMaker, IceWm, Sawfish, Afterstep, Fvwm . Maybe Xfce is the best if you want a more complete desktop. There's a small chance that a recent Kde with the right options can work, but i don't count on it.
