gnome, resolution and lack of sleep ;)

Alright everyone, ill try to keep it short

Tried to change my resolution from 1024x746 to 1152x864 or even higher... what happens is (using gnome, rh 7.3) that I cant move the icons over the "older" resolution frame (or where it would be in comparision to the new one).

Changed it in my Xfree congfig file. In it the only modes written down were 1024x... 800x... and 640x... SO I simple added the resolution I wanted (i know that the screen, gpu can handle it) and then i restarted X.

How ought I to solve this? Dont make me live with 1024x746 (or whatever the last numbers are, were of course more cautious when i changed the config file

(any bad language, spelling, grammar, me not proving a point is blamed on lack of sleep, 3 am over here

Cheer, Klod

Hey man its 5:20 am here, and I'm just getting sane.

/home/username/.gnome2/

and take a poke around, I haven't run gnome much recently, but what you want is in there. If worse comes to worse, rm the whole dir, loose your settings and let it recreate from a new set of defaults.

Cheers,

Finegan
