gnomad2 spits out sansa mp3 player
I was trying gnomad2 with my sansa m240 mp3 player on my Fedora 9, but it spits it out.
I can plug in the m240, it mounts automagically, and I can traverse its file directories under /media/disk just fine. However, when I fire up gnomad2, I these bad things appear in my message log: Code:
Feb 20 22:07:26 localhost kernel: Buffer I/O error on device sdc, logical block 245 Any ideas as to what is happening? I have FC9 with gnomad2 and libmtp packages. |
How come you are trying to use gnomad2 with your Sansa? I thought gnomad2 was for Creative(R) Nomad Jukeboxes and Creative(R) Zens.

I read that it is supposed to support other players through the libmtp library.

I had trouble with both Banshee and Gnomad2. I think it's the new HAL code. ID's it as an interface, but doesn't show up in the hardware list.
MTP has had to be re-implemented via library install, MTPlibxxx if I recall; might be that again. I have luck with an older distro. You could try cp and use /dev/usb__whatever. Might work. |
Thanks cloud! Sounds like it is not just me.
I can in fact access the Sansa as a file system which automatically mounts to /media. So certainly cp work just fine. I was looking for something with a GUI that would process my mp3 library, use the ID3 tags, and generate downloads of mp3s and playlists. I am not hung up on using gnomad2. It's support for MTP seemed to make it a candidate. Anyone have better suggestions? |
