GNet Realtek 8169 - PHYS, not turning link on

I'm using a Realtek 8139 for eth0 which I use for my uplink and using this new GNet 8169 is for my home network and which is to reside on eth1. Another home computer this is hooked to eth1 is also using a new 8169. I'm running a FC3 build.

I've found a few articles on this "PHYS", but I'm unclear as to what is causing this problem to begin with. But I'm in the leary crowd of patching kernels blindly without understanding the error, though that's the direction these articles seem to point in.

Anyone shed some light on this?

Thank you.
