GIGA-BYTE M55Plus S3G bad luck!

Hi

I read that people were lucky with this M55Plus S3G giga-byte mobo.
It is not my case...
Are there people who were like me and then could make it work?

I would appreciate sharing your experiences, mines are unsuccessful despite all the parameters I tried [noapic, noloapic, nodmraid, acpi=off and so on].

Thanks!

Serge

Maybe you could be a little more specific. What distro are you using and what problem(s) are you having? That's the mobo I'm using and FC5, Gentoo, and CLFS work just fine. The only thing is that the k8temp module wasn't available until the 2.6.19 kernel so I couldn't read temp info. That's pretty minor though.

Hi Arow

Finally today I fixed the problem. After having read a post about people who tried to install Windows XP, the problem came from the BIOS. The mobo does not handle correctly the high speed memory: in a first time [to check] I "downgraded" my memory speed, then I upgraded the BIOS [F6 version, before I had the F4 version] and now everything is OK.

Thank you very much for your answer.

Regards

Serge
