Angry GF FX5600 Ultra problems with Redhat

OK I am running a PC with the following specs:
MSI K7N2 Delta ILSR (new Ultra 400 chip set)
Barton 2500+
1 GB Corsair XMS 3500 (2x 512MB sticks)
BFG 5600 Ultra 128MB
Samsung 900p 19in Monitor using std VGA connector

The problem is:
When I try to install in graphicvs mode the monitor goes in to the no video signal mode. I can install in text mode but as soon as I try to switch to X-windows it goes into the no signal mode. if I go to the different virtual consoles I can read what is in them others I am not able to see and it just flashes the yellow light on the power switch. I ran a test by downloading slackware live CD and it works just fine. I know my install disks are working cause I installed them on ym cheaper machien wich is a 1700+ with a GF 2 GTS PRO card, and a sound blaster PCI 128 sound card. The cheap machien runs linux so well I wanna move my gaming rig to linux and ditch windows. Doe sanyon ehave a clue as to what I may be doing wrong and how I could fix it. The kernel I am trying to install is Red Hat 9 (2.4.20-8) I down loaded the wrong (2.4.20-21 its a source code) and I am not sure how to use the source as I am new to Linux. Thanks for any help anyone can provide.
