Most importantly, what devices are you trying to get to work?

For a storage device:

modprobe usb-storage

for a keyboard:

modprobe usbkbd

for a mouse:

modprobe usbmouse

Cheers,

Hi and welcome to LQ!

When you type in all caps it appears as if you are yelling, you must be mighty frustrated, I am sure. I know I was at first too.

Anyway, yeah, short of a recompiled kernel, Fin hit it. I unfortunately have to build a new kernel (or copy over an old one) each time I install slack onto my box, but by now it's no big deal really.

Good Luck

Cool

This is what finally got the lighbulb to go on for me

help here

Don't forget, you'll first need to know which usb core module to load, if it isn't already in your kernel.

usb-uhci
uhci
usb-ohci

Windows device manager will tell you which it is if you dual boot.
