Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Getting my laptop modem to work

I've installed Ubuntu 7.01 on my Dell Inspiron 5150 and so far the only thing I cannot get working is the onboard 56K modem.

The modem shows up under network devices and I've been able to put my ISP's details into the connection dialogue box but it wont crank into life. I believe there are no specific drivers present. Do I take it I have to treat this modem as a winmodem?

Where can I get the drivers?

Thankyou
