Getting modem to be recognised in knoppix

My modem uses the MD5628D-L-C chipset. Where do I get a linux driver for it?

What kind of modem are you using.
What port do you plug it in.
Sometime, you can use generic driver for modem,
Just tell linux where the modem is attached and it will be usable.

Not a good news,
Internal is not well supported by linux.
Some of internal linux used the PC CPU instead of built-in one, and they require windows.
If you get this kind of modem, it would be a nightmare to make it work.
I think you should check the producer website and google and hope

What is an alternative to getting drivers from linuxant.com for winmodems? The software from there is not free open source like Linux or the other gnu software.

Calm down linuxmandrake, don't use the word damn (use fuck ), did my link work?
I think you should plan to replace the modem.
