Getting HP PSC 1610 to work with Kubuntu

I just recently switched from Gnome to KDE on my Ubuntu box. The HP PSC 1610 was working fine but once I installed KDE it no longer works. I used the same install instructions I used before, but now it doesnt work one bit..even if I use a Gnome session. Any ideas?
