Getting GeForce FX 5700 Ultra to work on SuSe 9.0

I have a GeForce FX 5700 Ultra video card installed in my system running SuSe 9.0, and I downloaded the latest Video Drivers from Nvidia but the card doesn't show up on the list in YaST2...

I currently have it set to GeForce FX 5800 Ultra and just incase theres no way I can add the GeForce FX 5700 Ultra I was just wondering if having it set to the 5800 driver could possible over work my video card and burn it out?

thanks for your help

I did get them from Nvidia.com but they are .run file so I had to go into a shell and type sh (nameofthefile.run) and it installed them from there... but I'm going to get updates from YaST and see if it updates the driver list...

running the .run file is the only way I know.

Do it. It will work.

Then go in your /etc/X11/XF86Config
or /etc/X11/Xorg.conf

and be sure to have the lines
Quote:
Section "Device"
Identifier "geforce-fx-5650" #(that's myne, keep your)
Driver "nvidia"
Then startx.

If the x says "no screen found", o "no device driver found", or something like that try

modprobe nvidia

then startx.

init 3

cd /usr/src/linux
make cloneconfig
make prepare-all

./NVIDIA-blah --kernel-source-path=/usr/src/linux

sax2 -m 0=nvidia

reboot
