Getting all buttons to work on a Revoltec FightMouse Pro

I have got the above mouse, which has four buttons and a clickable 4-way wheel. It was automatically recognized by my OS and everything works fine except for the two side buttons. Using xev, I found out that these trigger different events than all other buttons, namely KeyPress instead of ButtonPress. This is what appears on the console:

Code:
KeyPress event, serial 34, synthetic NO, window 0x3000001,
    root 0x1a6, subw 0x0, time 8324004, (281,177), root:(284,200),
    state 0x10, keycode 234 (keysym 0x0, NoSymbol), same_screen YES,
    XLookupString gives 0 bytes:
    XmbLookupString gives 0 bytes:
    XFilterEvent returns: False
Is there a way to use these buttons like ordinary mouse buttons, e.g. for Back/Forward while browsing?

Look through here:

If you need more help, post the relevant port of 'xorg.conf'.

So basically, you need to use the evdev driver, and then figure out the correct Xmodmap to use.

Oh, and if you want it to work in FF3 you need to change the FF options.
Code:
mousewheel.horizscroll.withnokey.action;2
mousewheel.horizscroll.withnokey.numlines;-1
mousewheel.horizscroll.withnokey.sysnumlines;false
