Getting a Linux server running RH 6.0 to talk to a PowerMac G4

Hi
We have a 3yr old Power Mac G4 that use to talk to our Linux office server. Then the HD on the Mac was replaced and all settings have been lost.
Can anyone talk me through the steps to set up the Mac again so it can see the Linux server.
As far as I know the Linux server has RH6 and Samba.
Thanks
James
