Genius optical USB mouse not detected in REDHAT 7.3
RED HAT 7.3 doesn´t detect my Genius optical usb mouse.

But the optical light is on, pointer doesn´t move!!!

Where do i start to install my mouse?

Im really new in install Hardware in LINUX!!!

Please post any & all "InputDevice" sections from your /etc/X11/XF86Config file. Also please post the output from: dmesg|grep -i usb

I use RH9 with 2.4 kernel

some USB mouse work OK in windows but not in linux. In order to make them work, you may need to change modules between uhci and ohci which may need to recompile kernel. Some people also report that changing XF86config to PS/2 may work as well.

I have a recommendation that SHOULD work. Get a connector and plug that USB mouse to the PS/2 port.
