Hi

GeForce FX 5550 is compatible with Linux. RedHat Linux 9 (Shrike) is a bit old though. You should really consider moving to never distributions like Fedora: http://fedora.redhat.com.

You could always try to install drivers for your nVIDIA card. Get the drivers from: http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_d..._1.0-8756.html.
The installation is pretty easy and there are good docs about how to install the drivers. If that fails, you probably need to upgrade.

I can say it worked splendidly with Slackware. I have one in my desktop machine, plugged into the YV to watch movies on.
