Rep:
What resolution and color depth are you running on? I'm running on 1600x1200 with 32-bit color and I get around 3.9K in glxgears (I'm using a GeForce FX 5700 Ultra). However, it's not really a good benchmark. Try something like Quake ]|[ or Unreal Tournament.
One other question to ask -- were these scores taken when glxgears was running in full screen mode, or in a much smaller window, say 2" by 2"? The smaller the window, the faster the fps score, but if these numbers were the result of a full screen, man, I'd say you've got one smokin fast rig. -- J.W.
