Okay, I finally got fed up last night and decided to try it one more time.

Strange thing is, it works now (I think -- i'll leave complete judement of that for a few days of burn-in testing).

At least rh didnt lock up after a few minutes of use this time.

Setting up a NVIDIA video card is no big deal. You can find the NVIDIA driver and and a working XF86Config file at http://www.linuxmall.us/free I posted the info just for you.

I had the same problem and i solved it like this:

installed RH 9.0
made a boot disk
on boot entered "linux single" for single mode
when entered on single mode edited the inittab (etc/inittab) file and changed initmode to 3
rebooted and logged in as root
installed nvidia drives, downloaded via nvidia website
re-edited inittab to initmode 5
rebooted and it worked, X runs perfectly

It seems that everyone which have that card have the same problem. I'm one of them, of course. I try later to see if I could or not to repair this. Thanks you!!!!

1152x864 why? That is not a normal. 800*600, 1024*768, or 1280*1024 should work just fine.
