Geforce 6200 no Direct3D
 

I installed the latest version of Cedega. I installed the latest version of the Nvidia driver from ubuntu, "nvidia-glx". When I run the video tests, the OpenGL works, but the Direct3D doesn't. I am afraid that this is causing problems with my computer.

Do I need to install the legacy packages to get this card working? I have a 6600 in my third computer, which is broken, but I might try switching the cards to see if this helps.

I am trying to get World of Warcraft working better. I am running WoW in Opengl mode, which makes things look a lot better, but the problem is when I am in the character select screen, the characters turn very slowly and if I leave it at this screen for very long than the entire machine just shuts down like if you pulled the power cord.

I am not sure if this has to do with my video card (might be the PSU cant handle the load, but its not like I am running 7800 Quad SLI), but I think it would work better if I could get the Direct3D working.

Spontaneous reboots sound like a hardware problem, are you overclocking anything? If not, replacing CPU, RAM, graphics card, or power supply and re-tracing all your steps to getting the system to reboot would help narrow things down. If you can't, Prime95 with small FFTs will reveal a CPU problem (or PSU), while memtest86 will find bad RAM. If those come up clean, it is problably your graphics card or PSU. Try using Nvidia's overclocking utility, because it will bee looking for artifacts. If that ends up underclocking your card, then the card itself may be the problem. PSU is a little tougher, and may cause issues with any of the above tests. Replace with a temprary one if possible.

I am not overclocking it. The computer is brand new from a company who tested all the components to make sure the work before sending it to me.

I think it is the geforce 6200 graphics card and the nvidia driver not supporting Direct3D with Cedega. Maybe I should email Nvidia and ask them if the 6200 is supported under Linux.
