Gateway E3000 bios reset?

Hey, everyone - this is a stretch, but if anybody knows computers, it's *nixers.
My friend needs to reset the BIOS on an old (really old!) Gateway E3000, since it was acquired as a hand-me-down from a university and has a boot password on it. Nobody knows or remembers the password or even knows where to look for it. There must be some physical way of overriding the BIOS and resetting it (specific jumper?). I searched around but couldn't find anything. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Kelly

Usually you can just remove the CMOS battery for a minute or two and that should reset the bios to the factory defaults. I was trying to find the user guide for that model on the web (which should tell you where the battery is), but I didn't find E-3000.

Here's the link to E-series user manuals.

The 3200 appears to have a jumper setting that gives you a special bios menu for clearing passwords...
