Games & Game Controllers

Hey my fellow Tuxers, I'm looking for a list of, or looking to compile a list of game controllers that is compatible (more natively) with linux ditros!

There are alot of game houses out there that are dev'ing & porting games for linux now that linux is finally being recognized by the mainstream or general public. (I know what u r prob thinking "a lil bit late to the show" right?) Well that's what I'm thinking. I absolutelyl love linux and love the community (which I think is the true best part of linux: community or fellowship) Your help is and always will be more than appreciated. OneLove!

You should be able to look up the joystick driver and its supported hardware for whatever kernel you are interested in. Someone have a link handy? I'm on a phone.

Also, LQ has a hardware compatibility list that might be of help.

Get an Xbox 360 controller. Recent games (such as Towerfall Ascension) are designed with that particular controller in mind.

The Xbox One controller needs a 3.17 or newer kernel (source: reddit). Apart from that, all USB gamepads (and that includes console gamepads with USB adapters) should be plug-and-play.
