Gainward GTX 560 GDDR5 Graphics Card & Ubuntu

Hi not long built a desktop Acer MB with Intel 3i plus Win7 64bit OS and added Ubuntu 11.04 alongside using a windows installer. Having trouble with graphics - display not fitting on TV screen. I have a Gainward GTX 560 1GB GDDR5 VGA DVI HDMI PCI-E Graphicd card. The hardware picked ths up but installed some driver that cannot be adjusted to produce the best display for my TV. I have tried installing Proper drivers but with no luck.

Problem sorted - reinstalled Ubuntu using 10.04 and left the graphics card out and desktop fits perfect. Looking at the Gainward website the card is not supported by linux but I suspect its also 11.04 as well that caused the conflict.

I dont know quite why the Gainward site would make you think its not supported with linux.

Ubuntu 11.04 nvidia-current has driver version 270.41.06. GTX560 requires drvier version 275.09.07 or higher.

It is posible to get newer drivers in ubuntu, from PPAs or manually installing the nVidia driver.

Thanks I'll give it a go and see if the card works properly but sticking with Ubuntu 10.04 appears to be more stable as confirmed by the reviews on this site.
