The gphoto project is just about the only place to bother with going to if you want to find out if the camera is accesible directly. I don't see it on their list:

but that list might be outdated... doubt it though. At the least the camera might be accesible as a mass-storage device if its USB, or possibly you can do what I did and just buy your way around the problem by picking up a $10 USB compact flash card reader.
