FS information missed in external sata HDD after data writing

Hi all,
I'm experiencing the following problem:
I bought a cabinet Advance model BX-3801STB for 3.5" HDD sata to usb 2.0. The disk used is a 500GB Seagate barracuda 7200.11 with firmware updated.
The problem is double:
1) When I'm under linux (ubuntu 12.04 kernel 3.2.0-31-generic), if I try to write any data in the disk I loose the format informations and I have to format again the disk under windows.
2) It is impossible to format the HDD from ubuntu even using GParted. Only with Windows XP this can be done.

I found that the cabinet works using a sata bridge Super Top M6116.
I tried using a manhattan sata to usb converter and everything worked properly.

After the writing problem, syslog gives this message when it cannot mount the hdd

Thanks
