Frontier Modems F2250, what to do with them...
 

I recently switched from Frontier DSL to Spectrum Cable. I went from about 17-19mbps d/l, 1mbps u/l with Frontier to Spectrum with d/l's around 118 mbps, 12 mbps u/l.

Now I have three Frontier Modems (Router/WiFi,) Actiontech F2250, that they don't want back. Two of them are brand new. So I have two choices. I can either throw them out or find a less wasteful use for them.

Anyone have any ideas?

Edit: Now that I posted this here I am wondering if this should have been posted in networking. Also the reason I have two new ones is that they refused to listen to me. I told them the problem was with the lines outside. They said no, and kept giving me modems. Funny, I saw them out there a few days ago replacing the lines.

You might be able to use them as wireless access points or as an extra switch if you need extra hardware. disable the dhcp server. You should be able to change their internal ip address so their different. Otherwise recycle...

Perfect. Thanks. I am going to give this a try later or tomorrow when I get some time. I will also keep in mind to recycle as well. I hate throwing things like this out. I won't tell you how long I kept an old 8088 computer... lol


Edit: Mentioning that old 8088 got me a bit nostalgic. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_8088 What a difference compared to today.

Used ones are for sale so might sell online?

I thought about selling them but I am going to set this up and just help others if I can. Pay it forward. Still haven't had the time though, holidays are a pain... Going to try to do it today while I work on someones computer.
