Front panel mic not working

My computer case has jacks in the front for a microphone and headphones. The microphone jack doesn't work in Linux, but it did in WinXP. My soundcard is an Intel D865PERL, with onboard sound. Anyone know how to get this working?

Are you sure it's still connected to the board? Does the Mic jack on the soundcard work in Linux?

Yes, the mic input in the back of the machine works in Linux. And all the jacks (USB 2.0, mic, headphones) in the front were hooked up and working in Windows and I never disconnected them. Maybe they came loose, but I know for a fact it was working before. I'll check it out when I get a chance.
