Fresh RedHat AS 3.0 Install - No Video

Hi,

I just installed RedHat AS 3.0 onto my Compaq DC5000 computer with onboard video and a NEC LCD1960NXi monitor. The install goes fine and Xserver is automatically configured. But as soon as I reboot and run Xserver to go to the gui, the screen goes black and the monitor says no signal. I booted into single user mode and checked the XF86Config file, and noticed that the monitor sync values were not the same as the NEC monitor's spec sheet said, so I changed them...but still no luck

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks,
Matt

What resolution did you choose during the install process and what are the range values for horizontal and vertical sync of the LCD?

What video controller did the X-Windows System choose for your system?
