forcing a USB device to use usb-storage
 
How can I force the kernel (I guess) to use usb-storage on a usb device?

i want to test if I can get the pictures off a digital cam.

I recently went through this for my Nikon 2000 digital. My camera wasn't set up to emulate a usb mass storage device. Instead, it had another protocol PTP. I decided it would be better to use a flashcard reader instead.
